  • On the 20th anniversary of September 11th, Jonathan’s memoir and photographic essay 9/11: Taking the Long View, appeared in The American Scholar (Sept. 11, 2021).

  • At the NYU Symposium ReVision and ReForm: Teaching Writing Across Borders, Jonathan moderated the panel The Ethics and Question of the Self, with Natalie Friedman, Jacob Appel, and Olga Breydo. October 23-24, 2020.

  • Jonathan will teach a 6-week literature course on the Coming-of-Age Short Story (Mondays, 6pm, June 3-July 8, 2019), at NYU’s School of Professional Studies.

  • Jonathan’s essay Revisiting the Deep Sense of Place in Alice Munro’s Debut, 50 Years Later, on the Nobel Prize writer’s first collection, appears in The Atlantic Magazine (theatlantic.com) (Jan. 3, 2019).

  • Jonathan’s photography won Honorable Mention in the New York Center for Photographic Arts’ contest Urban Landscapes, Suburban Scenes and Rural Impressions, and is exhibited in their online gallery (Summer/Fall, 2018).
